in dichloromethane To a soln. of triferrate in CH2Cl2 is added crotonoyl chloride and the mixture is stirred at 25°C for 4 h under Ar.; addn. of Et2O, ppt. of (PPN)Cl is filtered off, concn. of filtrate, addn. of pentane, a dark brown oil (Fe3(CO)10, Fe2(CO)7 complexes in 1:1 ratio) is obtained, removal of supernatant, residual oil is dried in vac., recrystn. (MeOH), elem. anal.;
