methanesulfonic acid in tetrahydrofuran; diethyl ether; hexane
hexane soln. of BuLi added to an ether soln. of bromide under N2 at -30°C, at 0°C THF soln. of 9-BBN added during 1 min, immediately MsOH added at 0°C, mixture was stirred for 1 h at room temp.; filtered, filtrate evapd., residue chromd. on SiO2, ethylthiomethyl B-deriv. purified by HLPC (hexane) and recrystd. from hexane-ether (elem. anal.), 1-ethylthiopentyl B-deriv. recrystd. from hexane (elem. anal.);
