in tetrahydrofuran Irradiation (UV/VIS); Nitroso compound in THF under N2 is stirred until it becomes light blue, the soln. is placed in a photochemical app., addnl. THF is added, cooling for 30 min with ice bath, N2 is bubbled through system, Fe(CO)5 is added, 15 min irradn. (Hg lamp).; the soln. is warmed up to 25°C, solvent removal, residue is dissolved in CH2Cl2, filtn. of resulting soln., solvent removal from filtrate, residue is dissolved (19/1 hexane/ethyl acetate), chromy. on silica gel;
