Kinetics; thermostating an acetate buffer soln. in distd. water in a flask open to air or under O2/Ar, addn. of CoO, addn. of thermostated Na2SO3 soln. at 20 - 80°C, stirring this mixture, react. at 30, 35 and 40°C, pH = 4.63; filtration of CoO, pptn. the sulphate ions as BaSO4 for gravimetric estimation or determination by iodometric titration, rate depending on buffer soln., CoO, SO3(2-) and O2 concentration, influence of pH and buffer studied;
