in neat (no solvent) byproducts: O2; LiNO3 loaded into stainless-steel cylinder in drybox, put into vacuum line and excess IF7 added at -196°C, cylinder warmed slowly to room temp., held at this temp. for 3d, recooled to -196°C; O2 gas pumped off, the material volatile at 30°C (=FNO2, IF7 and IF5) separated by fractional condensation (trap temps.: -95, -126 and -196°C), white solid residue = LiF;
