in diethyl ether byproducts: H2O; react. of equimolar amounts of B(OCH3)3 and C6H5MgBr at -60°C, hydrolysis with H2O at about 0°C, neutralization with H2SO4, separation of organic layer, evapn., crystn. of dihydroxy borane on cooling, dehydration at 110°C (6h);; (further dihydroxy borane on working-up of mother-liquor);;
