precooled solns. of (Fe-complex + Ph3C radical (1 mol equiv)) and Ph3CBF4 in CO blanketed CH2Cl2 were mixed in 1:1 molar ratio under 1 atm of CO (Schlenk techniques), mixt. was stirred at 25°C for 22 h; concd. under vac., Et2O was added at 0°C, filtered, ppt. washed with ether and dried to give alkene complex, combined filtrate and washings were concd., chromd. at -10°C on Al2O3 (act.III, 2percent Et2O in pentane) to give acyl complex and Ph3CH;
