n-BuLi in tetrahydrofuran; hydrogenchloride; hexane bromobenzene in THF at -78°C treated dropwise with n-BuLi in hexane, after 45 min trimethyl boronate added dropwise, warmed to room temp., stirred overnight, treated with HCl (2 N) at 0°C for 1 h; org. layer separated, H2O layer extd.(Et2O), ether layer washed (brine),dried (MgSO4), evapd.(vac.), dropped into hexane, pptd.;
