byproducts: LiCl; under N2, mixt. of amine and hexane was cooled to 0°C, n-BuLi (1equiv) was added with stirring, warmed to room temp., stirred for 30 min, cooled to -78°C, BCl3 (1 equiv) condenced into stirred slurry,warmed to room temp., stirred for 1 h; filtered under N2, solvent removed under reduced pressure, distd.;
