butyllithium in tetrahydrofuran; hexane TiCl4 was co-condensed with THF at -195.8 on a vac. line, the vac. was replaced by Ar, the mixt. was allowed to warm to 25°C and brought to reflux; after cooling to 25°C C4H9Li in hexane was added, the mixt. was refluxed for 30 min; the mixt. was cooled to 25°C, the solid was sepd.;
