C6H6; Na in chlorobenzene; benzene the mixt. of dry benzene and sodium metal was refluxed, then SnCl4 in chlorobenzene was slowly added through a dropping funnel into the react. vessel and heated to reflux for 2 h;; ppt. was suction filtered, the remaining filtrate was cooled and additional ppt. was formed; all ppts. were collected and further purified;;
