To a soln. of orthovanadate-compd. ZnCl2 was added, mixt. was heated to 60°C with stirring in a vac.-sealed ampoule under Ar (5 h).; Solvent was removed under vac., (t-BuO)4V was recovered by sublimation at 90°C (1 mm Hg), the dry residue was extd. with THF/hexane at 60°C, react. was monitored by ESR, elem. anal.;
