Sonication; carbonaceous microspheres added to soln. of Ni salt, ultrasonicated for 0.5 h and stirred for 1 h, pH adjusted to 9 by addn. of 5 wtpercent aq. NH3, stirred for 3 h; centrifuged, washed with water, redispersed in distd. water (cycle repeated for 5 times), solid dried at 100°C for 5 h, heated at 450°C for 4 h in air, then at 600°C for 4 h in N2 atm.; hollow spheres obtained;

High Pressure; dissolving of Ni(CH3COO)2 and urea in H2O, placing of Ti foil in the soln., heating at 120°C for 10 h in Teflon-lined stainless steel autoclave, washing, drying, annealing in N2 at 500°C for 2 h;
